Confidence with Coffee #accessallareas

In the past year I have been visiting new places with my guide dog Bertie to see how welcoming places are toward people using guide dogs. As many of you know I started this as Guide Dogs launched their Access All Areas Campaign to make companies more aware of how Guide Dogs are highly trained and should be permitted anywhere that is for public service. At the beginning of the new year, I visited two coffee shops with a friend and Bertie obviously came along.

The first place was Tac MCR Coffee House which I can highly recommend for both food and coffee. There was no issue with Bertie being there, the staff were all very friendly and even offered water.

The second coffee house we visited that day was Ancoates Coffee Compnay which is in a very beautiful building in Ancoates in the city centre of Manchester. Again Bertie was very welcomed and there was plenty of space for him to lie.

I’m always uncertain when going into independent or smaller chains of restaurants or coffee houses but both of these were amazing and welcoming to Bertie. Neither place were cramped and all staff were educated highly not to touch Bertie or interfere with him.

Very impressed and will visit again.
