A song, she’s Beautiful

I had read an article about a quarter of women go to bed wearing make-up to impress their partners this morning and I was disgusted and shocked by this. I don’t wear make-up personally and I think too much makes you look fake. Why can’t women accept they can be beautiful without it? So hence where these lyrics came from.

Enjoy!

She’s Beautiful

She sits down to paint on a mask, Her hands tremble with anxiety, She must paint on the face he knows, She must conceal her identity.

Darkening her eyes to give a sultry stare, Her cheeks blushed with health and life, She scrapes back her hair for him to see, The painted smile she wears tonight.

A face behind the mask, A princess behind the glass, But doesn’t she know, She’s beautiful? A laugh that rings out loud, A carefree painted on smile, She doesn’t realise, She’s beautiful!

Her hair falls to her waist in sheets, Her eyelashes long and flowing, Her eyes glisten with glitter, And her skin is warm and glowing. Nails as long as talons, A tan bought for money, And all this makes her think she’s beautiful, Gives her class, smarts and make her funny.

A face behind the mask, A princess behind the glass, But doesn’t she know, She’s beautiful? A laugh that rings out loud, A carefree painted on smile, She doesn’t realise, She’s beautiful!

Take away the fakeness, The extensions, false eyelashes and blush, Hide away the brushes and pots of paint, And you’ll see her flush. Her hands will fly to her face, In horror of the monster she’s become, But place a smile upon that face, And the monster shall be gone.

A face behind the mask, A princess behind the glass, But doesn’t she know, She’s beautiful? A laugh that rings out loud, A carefree painted on smile, She doesn’t realise, She’s beautiful!
